My Least Favorite Things
By veronica lynn | August 18, 2008
The other night I saw a very funny ” Sound of Music” inspired episode of ” Will and Grace”.
It reminded me of a poem I wrote a few Christmas’ ago.
My Least Favorite Things
( A holiday worker’s spin on an old classic. See http://www.stlyrics.com/lyrics/thesoundofmusic/myfavoritethings.htm for original lyrics)
By: Veronica Lynn
Cash registers ringing, receipts being given
Sales on scarves and warm woolen mittens
Early bird specials and the shoppers they bring
These are a few of my least favorite things
Cream colored cars with the keys locked inside them
People describing their kid to me cause they can’t find him
Endless lines from my desk to the door,
These are the things that I find a bore!
People asking for endless directions
That they don’t listen to bringing them back again.
Packages left behind, drinks on the floor.
So aggravating- can’t take it any more!
When black Friday comes
Makes me so sad. Really I could cry
Why come to the mall at five in the morning
When those tacky sweaters you crave so bad,
Will still be there at nine.
* If you are one of those aforementioned early shoppers, I’ll forgive you if you come by my info. booth and say hi. ![]()

Pilgrim’s Prayer
By veronica lynn | August 5, 2008
Pilgrim’s Prayer
Lord, love on me.
Restore life in me.
Grow joy in me,
Until I laugh with You again.
Quiet my heart.
Extend my hands.
Strenthen my feet,
Until I run with you again.
Jesus in my heart.
I’m worry free.
Lord, renew my mind,
Until You’re all I believe.

Again
By veronica lynn | July 28, 2008
It’s hard to say goodbye to someone that you love.
The memories held close in your heart don’t seem to be enough.
To sustain you through the journey, you must continue now alone.
But wherever life make take us, there’s one thing I know.
We will meet again.
I know that as we travel, many a friend we’ll meet.
None will be so special, none will be so sweet,
As the friendship we have shared,
In the time Heaven’s granted,
For as far apart as we may go,
Our hearts remain as one.
We will meet again.
Travelling the journey through the stages of life,
In victory and in sorrow,
There’s one thing we’ll keep in mind.
We will meet again.
Together in Eternity,
Always the best of friends.
We will meet again
Somewhere in Forever
We will meet again.
We will meet again.

Until I Loved You
By veronica lynn | July 28, 2008
You know my story from beginning to end
You gave Your Life to make me God’s Friend.
Greater love hath no man than this,
My Beloved is mine and I am His.
You loved me until I loved you.
With your Word, you restored my heart.
Brought light to my path, offered me a fresh start.
You’ve walked with me every step of the way.
I know I will join You in Heaven some day.
You loved me until I loved you.
You love me and now I love You.

Still Here
By veronica lynn | July 28, 2008
Living a life in the shadows of sin,
Falling further’s the only progress I’ve made.
Broken and frightened, the tears fill my eyes.
No one’s around-they don’t have the time.
I’m here. Still here.
The help that I need, I don’t feel I deserve.
I think I’m too sick to ever be cured.
I’ve broken my own heart a thousand times,
Looking for something I never did find.
I’m here. Still here.
I remember a story my mama once said.
About the man Jesus who rose from the dead.
Mama said Jesus loves me and bears all my pain,
But I wonder, does He still feel the same,
Now that I’m here. Still here.
Filled with a longing I cannot refrain,
I open my heart and call out His name.
I listen and hear Him say,
I’m here. Still here.
