Diary- August 5, 2008 Sixth Entry

By veronica lynn | August 5, 2008

I looked on the menu and saw that the restaurant offered Banana Foster’s French Toast.

(I should have ordered it in honor of the other day… August 1, 2008)

Smiling I said, ” You’re introducing a new style, I see.”

He grinned: ” It’s not new. It’s classic. It’s the only good thing the French ever invented.”

Diary- July 23, 2008 Seventh Entry

By veronica lynn | July 23, 2008

”That can’t eat, can’t sleep, reach for the stars over the fence, World Series kind of love” - Diane Barrows in the film, “It Takes Two.”

A few weeks ago, one of my co-workers said ( about me) to one of our associates:

“Do you notice how she is glowing and smiling all the time?”

That friend of mine, whom has nicknamed me twitterpated, is not alone in his assessment.

(Only those who have seen the Disney classic, “ Bambi” will understand the reference.)

My mother claims that my skin has never looked better.

Who knew that she could have cured my teen acne, if only she had let me have a boyfriend back then?

(I kid!)

Diary- July 23, 2008 Sixth Entry

By veronica lynn | July 23, 2008

Shirley McLaine once said, “ The person who knows how to laugh at himself will never cease to be amused.”

I know that to be true.

My life is a circus and, luckily, I am the biggest clown ever.

It works.

There is an “I” in LIFE.

By veronica lynn | July 23, 2008

The world today is not an easy one to live in.

I find that it is so easy to lose heart and hope in the midst of hard work and in the name of success.

Even when I am not in the midst of an all out identity crisis, I always have questions.

I try so hard to keep in mind who I am and what I am really about.

I want to dream big dreams; I want always to believe.

I want to let go of all I have come from and never lose sight of where I am going.

I want to be me.

Pray: It works.

By veronica lynn | July 23, 2008

“People may refuse our love or reject our message, but they are defenseless against our prayers.

Like an intercontinental missle, you can aim a prayer at a person’s heart whether you are 10 feet or 10,000 miles away.”

Go Ahead. Laugh.

By veronica lynn | July 23, 2008

” Laughter translates into any language.”- Author Unknown

“If you can’t laugh at it, you’re taking it too seriously.”- Nathaniel Summers

” To make mistakes is human; to stumble is commonplace; to be able to laugh at yourself is maturity.” - William Arthur Ward

“You grow up the day you have your first real laugh - at yourself.”- Ethel Barrymore

“Laughter and tears are both responses to frustration and exhaustion . . . . I myself prefer to laugh, since there is less cleaning up to do afterward.” Kurt Vonnegut

“A smile starts on the lips, A grin spreads to the eyes, A chuckle comes from the belly; But a good laugh bursts forth from the soul, Overflows, and bubbles all around.”- Carolyn Birmingham

“But the fact that some geniuses were laughed at does not imply that all who are laughed at are geniuses. They laughed at Columbus, they laughed at Fulton, they laughed at the Wright brothers. But they also laughed at Bozo the Clown”- Carl Sagan

”Laugh and the world laughs with you, snore and you sleep alone.”- Anthony Burgess

“That is the saving grace of humor, if you fail no one is laughing at you.”- A. Whitney Brown

Diary- July 23, 2008 Fourth Entry

By veronica lynn | July 23, 2008

I was born to catch dragons in their dens

And pick flowers.

To tell tales and laugh away the morning.

To drift and dream like a lazy stream.

And walk barefoot across sunshine days.

- James  Kavanaugh

Diary- July 23, 2008 Third Entry

By veronica lynn | July 23, 2008

Sasha Cagen, author of ” To-do List” wrote, “Writing a list clears the mind. Sometimes it practically feels cleansing, to have all the thoughts clamoring for attention find their way to the page.”

I completely agree.
