In the wake of Joshua Harris’s recent public statement that he is no longer a Christian, many of you have emailed us asking for our thoughts on the matter. Like many of you, we grew up reading Josh Harris’s books and were greatly influenced by his bestseller, I Kissed Dating Goodbye. We are products of the so-called “purity culture” and have seen firsthand the positives and negatives of this movement.
Our goal in making this video isn’t to bash Josh, his books, or the purity movement — but to take an honest look at the pros and cons of what has happened over the past 20 years, and to filter our experiences and opinions through a biblical lens.
