Most of us, as modern Christian girls, don’t know what God’s design is, so we’re listening to the loudest voices in society. There a lot of loud voices telling us what it means to be a girl/woman. We get it! It can be so hard.
Today we want to dig into what God says about His good design.
Unlike the culture’s opinions, which are ALWAYS changing…God’s design is timeless. God’s design for womanhood transcends time and cultures and is always relevant.
When it comes to your true beauty and worth, what does God’s Word have to say? Here are two practical truths about God’s design for you.
#1 Christ Defines My Worth and Identity
Your worth has nothing to do with you or your accomplishments, but everything to do with the worth God places on you.
Thankfully, God doesn’t base your worth on outward appearance or talents.
God loves us more than that! God is your Creator and He is the only One who has the authority to say where your worth and value comes from.
Remember that God designed you, therefore He defines your worth and purpose.
For you formed my inward parts; you knitted me together in my mother’s womb. I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Wonderful are your works; my soul knows it very well (Psalm 139:13-14)
For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them (Ephesians 2:10)
#2 God Created Me to be Beautiful for His Glory
Our culture is obsessed with outward appearances! We all feel the pressure to fit a certain mold. However, listening to the loudest voice is not God’s best.
God created us as females to be beautiful in uniquely different ways.
God values our unique (handcrafted) beauty. But even more than outward beauty, GOD wants us to build a lasting beauty that doesn’t fade with time (character, love for Him, etc).
Charm is deceitful, and beauty is vain, but a woman who fears the Lord is to be praised (Proverbs 31:30).
True Beauty Starts in the Heart and is cultivated when we…
– Use our body for His glory, not our own.
– Show gratitude to God for the physical features He gave us.
– Humbly focus on loving others rather than being consumed with self.
– View our worth and value based on His design, not what the culture says.
