With close to 9 million views on YouTube, it’s our most popular video. The only problem? We didn’t make it. Unfortunately, this highly viewed video was created by another YouTube channel to mock GirlDefined. With our online presence growing each year, the opposition is growing as well.
As hard as it is to be the recipients of such blatant ridicule, we know the battle isn’t actually against us. The real fight is a spiritual one (Eph. 6:12). It’s a fight for God’s truth and the gospel of Jesus Christ.
Keeping this bigger picture in mind is what enables us to continue standing for God’s truth here at GirlDefined.
Of course, we don’t like being mocked or receiving hateful comments, but we do it because we love Jesus more than popularity. We’re not creating Christian YouTube videos to win the praises of the world. We’re publishing these videos to proclaim the good news of Jesus Christ and His truth that will set people free.
John 8:32 says, “And you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.”
God’s truth is what breaks chains, offers hope, brings new life, and set’s the captive free. As unpopular as biblical truth may be to the world, we must remember that Jesus is the only way, the only truth, and the only life (John 14:6). Our lost world needs God’s truth, just like us, whether they realize it or not.
Rather than shrinking back in fear and embarrassment when we receive pushback and hate, we need to lean into the gospel and remind ourselves that we’re building God’s Kingdom, not ours.
We’re here on a God-defined mission to proclaim His life-changing message of hope!
This is why it’s so crucial for us, as Christian girls and women, to be equipped with God’s truth for ourselves. If we don’t understand God’s truth and what His Word teaches us, we won’t have a message of hope for those around us. We won’t know how to stand for truth in our schools, with our friends, on our social media, or on our sports teams. We won’t feel confident in God’s Word when peer pressure and negative comments strike. We will crumble under the weight of hate and rejection.
That is why learning how to chase truth in our lives is an essential part of being a Christian.
And that is exactly why we’re hosting the 2019 Girl Defined Conference. This year’s theme is titled, “Chasing Truth: Being a Girl Who Fearlessly Pursues God’s Word” and it’s happening in San Antonio, Texas on August 2-3, 2019. This conference was specifically designed to help you become a woman who boldly and fearlessly chases God’s truth in your life.
We’ll be unpacking popular questions such as, How do I speak the truth in love to my friends? What if I’m hated for standing up for what’s right? How do I become a woman who fearlessly embraces God’s Word?
This year’s breakout sessions will also equip you to chase truth in specific areas such as sexuality, purity, social fear, food struggles, guy crushes, singleness, unfulfilled longings, inner anxiety, social media, and much more.
Whether you’re a teen, a 20-something, a mom, or an aunt, this conference will equip you to chase truth in your own life — even when people “hate” you for it. We truly believe Girl Defined ’19 could be life-changing for you! We hope you’ll make plans to join us in San Antonio this coming August 2-3.

God is calling us, as modern Christian women, to rise up and be a generation who bravely chase His truth.
He is calling us to be women who live all-in for Christ. Women who live for the applause our of King alone. As we link arms with the sisterhood around the world, we’re reminded that we’re not in this battle alone. We only get one life on this earth, so let’s make it count for eternity!
